Nestled in one of the most privileged areas of the island of Nassau, the Compass Point resort has accommodated recording artists such as The Rolling Stones, Grace Jones, Shakira, Celine Dion, U2, Robert Palmer, Thompson Twins, Talking Heads, Dire Straits, Electric Light Orchestra, Bob Marley, Eric Clapton, James Brown, Iron Maiden and David Bowie.

Odabashian designed and manufactured the hand-knotted rugs for the reception and common areas of this iconic small hotel in the paradisical island of Nassau.

Ever After Miami – A rug project designed by MYT+GLVDK

Luxury fashion curator, Camille Russler has an eye for style. Ever After, Miami’s most exclusive bridal store recently underwent a full renovation. Led by Miami’s own Bloom Interior Architecture, which has done hospitality and high-end retail interior proejcts across the globe, they selected a custom hand made Odabashian rug for the entrance to the store.

The rug is designed by MYT+GLVDK, a collaboration between New York-based Mexican designers Andres Mier y Terán and Regina Galvanduque. Andrés has long experience in interiors projects. He worked with Philipe Starck in the mid 90s and is now creative lead in Grupo MyT’s multiple restaurant projects in New York, Mexico City and Los Angeles.  Regina is a graduate of Parsons School of Design and has collaborated with several of Mexico’s most prominent designers and architects.

Odabashian manufactures Elias Kababie’s rug collection

Often featured on Trendhunter as well as major design publications, Elias Kababie is one of Mexico’s most exciting rising design talents.

Recently, Elias Kababie seeked out Odabashian to manufacture a new and fresh collection of hand tufted wool rugs to complement his cutting-edge furniture and accessory collection.

His selection includes “No Signal”, a playful take on TV culture.

Other selected designs include the “ace”, a vintage-look “Ace of Spades” playing card.

Other designs are playful approaches to color and geometry.

Custom rugs for Westin Cancun’s meeting rooms in progress!

The Westin Cancun is a long-time customer of Odabashian’s contract and hospitality division. The hotel, originally designed by Ricardo Legorreta, also a long-time customer of Odabashian, enjoys one of the most beautiful beaches on Cancun’s legendary coast.

The interiors were exquisitely designed DP&A, contract interior architecture firm from Buenos Aires and the property owners trust no one but Odabashian to manufacture and execute the oversize custom hand-tufted rugs for the public spaces.

The rugs are currently under the final stages of completion and finishing within Odabashian’s exclusive looms in India.

Danae Estrada’s refined rug design reflected at the cool new NH Hotel in Queretaro, Mexico

Odabashian’s Miami-based contract/hospitality division recently completed production and delivery for Quarto Creativo’s interiors at the hotel NH in the colonial city of Queretaro, Mexico.

Led by Danae Estrada who designed the custom rugs for this project, Quarto Creativo is a boutique interior design firm that has turned traditional business hotels to dynamic and fun meeting spaces. Odabashian has already participated in several of Quarto Creativo’s projects with other NH properties in Mexico.

Rosewood San Miguel de Allende- tapetes hechos por Odabashian

En un cautivador pueblo de artesanos, situado en las montañas al norte de la Ciudad de México, Rosewood San Miguel de Allende se destaca entre las preciosas construcciones coloniales, caminos empedrados y punta arquitectonica de la parroquia del pueblo más antiguo del centro de México. Odabashian, empresa mas antigua de fabricación y venta de tapetes de lujo en Latinoamérica, fabricó todos los tapetes del espectacular hotel Rosewood San Miguel de Allende, inagurado en Febrero del 2011.

Éste complejo turístico es el desarrollo más importante de la historia de la antigua ciudad de San Miguel. Sin embargo, muchos de  los materiales y acabados fueron adquiridos a través de artesanos o artístas de México. En el caso de los tapetes, Rosewood recurrió a Odabashian por tener la experiencia en proyectos hoteleros de lujo como son Banyan Tree, Aman Resorts, Westin y St. Regis.

Los tapetes fueron fabricados utilizando una lana de Nueva Zelanda de la más alta calidad en el múndo. Odabashian utilizó diseños tradicionales Zapotecas autorizados debidamente para el uso de Rosewood San Miguel, pero con la calidad y tejido más resitente y comprobado para usos hoteleros. El tejido que se utlizó es un tejido plano tipo “Kilim” que permite un nudo muy cerrado y al mismo tiempo permite una vista elegante y fresca para el clima templado de la zona.

Otra ventaja que tiene éste típo de tapete para aplicaciones hoteleras es que es reversible y muy duradero para las operaciones continuas del hotel. De ésta forma, se logra tener un prodúcto hecho a mano de la más alta calidad, mientras que se considera el uso operativo de un hotel.
